Top 10 Things to Look for in a Gymnastics Team Program for Your Gymnast

An Atmosphere of Positive Psychology

Although these are not necessarily in any particular order, we have put this one first because it may be the most difficult to find. Gymnasts, athletes, humans in general react best to positive reinforcement, enthusiasm and confidence building. If you find that, you will almost also certainly find all of the following.

Pits

For any successful high-level team program, pits are a virtual necessity. Most good coaches would not even consider coaching in a facility that didn't have pits. Parents should feel the same about putting their gymnasts into a facility without pits. Pits allow an extra degree of teaching, coaching and learning flexibility. Pits should be available for every event and apparatus type.

Trampolines

Trampolines are one of the most efficient training tools for gymnastics. They allow significant time saving advantages when doing skills like somersaults. Ideally, trampolines should be in the ground for extra safety. Training in a facility without or that doesn't use trampolines will result in a slower learning curve for tumbling skills.

Tumble Tramp and/or Power Tumbling Strip

A tumble tramp is a long trampoline for working tumbling skills and power tumbling strips are fiberglass rod or slat floors that provide more bounce and softer landings. Both of these allow longer training sessions of tumbling with less wear and tear on gymnasts' young bodies.

A High Level Competitive Team

This gives you the best indication of the level of coaching available in the gym. If there are not already Level 10 and Elite gymnasts in the gym, you rally have only a hope not a realistic expectation that your gymnast might reach those levels. High level team coaches will likely have trained the rest of the staff in their successful training techniques.

A Clean Facility

A clean facility says a lot about the type of organization that you are dealing with. Parents who are paying significant fees for training have a reasonable expectation that the surrounding sin which they are placing their child are much like their own home - clean.

A Very Organized Program This is the best indication of whether a gym will have the organizational abilities required to put forth a top level team and gymnastics program. Missed deadlines, lateness and other similar organizational failings can result in missed competitive opportunities.

Sufficient Sets of Full Olympic and Training Equipment

Gymnasts require enough equipment that they will not have to waste valuable practice time waiting for equipment to open up for them to practice on. This means both enough equipment for other teammates and enough for any classes that are in the gym at the same time.

Sufficient Practice Time

While younger gymnasts should not train too much, there should be sufficient practice time available for gymnasts if they are to be competitive with other gyms and gymnasts. It is an unfair advantage if some teams are practicing more than your gymnast wants to and is able to.

An Effective Strength and Flexibility Program

All high level and successful gymnastics training programs have effective strength and flexibility programs. Effective gymnastics skill training and learning happens best if gymnasts are already strong enough and flexible enough to be able to perform the skills trying to be learned.

The Automatic Millionaire

David Bach AKA David Millionaire wrote this fairly simple, logical book, which teaches you how to look at your finances, and find ways to save and invest your money for the future. This book is full of insightful ideas on how to secure your future. Let's take a look at the key points of his book.

The Latte Factor. This is the term that turned David Bach into David Millionaire. This is a simple little trick to make some big changes in your life. It focus on looking at your daily spending. What little things do you waste money on everyday? Is it a latte? Is it eating out? Is it scratch off tickets? Taking that few dollars each day and investing it, as opposed to splurging on overprices beverages and eating out, can have very big results down the line.

Pay Yourself First. This is another huge step in the quest of becoming an automatic millionaire. Instead of paying your bills, supporting your little indulgences, and taking care of your future last, invest in your future first. As soon as you get paid, put a certain amount away before you do anything else. Get it into a bank account that you will not tap into. Make It Automatic! This is the David Millionaire secret that brings it all together. People are weak. As much as it stinks to say, it's true. Most people can not stick to a budget, or take twenty dollars each week to put into a bank account. Most banks will allow you to have a certain amount of your check automatically put into a separate bank account each week. This takes the responsibility out of your hands.

The "Sleep Well at Night" Test.

My monthly expenses currently total: ________________. I have ___________ saved in a money market or checking account. This equals _____________months of expenses.

The goal here is to have 3 months of expenses put away. This is your emergency fund. This is so that you can sleep well at night, knowing that if an emergency comes up, money will not be a problem. I truly believe that this security is something that everyone should have.

Looking at the state that the world economy is in right now, it is hard to see how anybody is able to save money. Take a look at the people who are not worrying. Who are they? Do they have nice jobs? With the rate that jobs are being lost, I do not think that the words nice and job belong in the same sentence. Do they have a lot invested in the stock market? Again, take a look at the market. The stock market is not the safe investment that it used to be. Things have changed. In his book, David Millionaire goes as far as to tell you what banks and types of accounts to invest your money in. With the current economic state that the world is in, many of these banks are no longer viewed as good investments. Many of them have even taken help from the government to stay alive.

So how is it that people are still becoming financial free. Entrepreneurialism is the key. Working hard now to create a residual income. Right now people are suffering from the dreaded woe is me syndrome. Times are hard for everybody. Yes, they are much harder for some then others, but woe is me doesn't fix anything. Focusing on the problem does not solve anything. Focusing on the solution is how things get done. It is time to take advantage of the incredible opportunities that are out there.

Save on Winter Electric Bills These Ten Ways

1. Insulate around windows as this is where a lot of cold air get in and warm out.

2. Wear warm clothes inside and turn down the thermostat to save on energy

3. Electrical plug ins and switches are an often over looked energy loss from cold air

Hardware stores sell insulators for wall switches and plug ins just for this reason.

4. Many appliances use electric even when they are off as they have lights that still run. Unplug them or put a surge protector with an on/off switch to turn them off when not in use.

5. Change as many bulbs to energy savers as possible 25 watts run a100-watt equivalent in light out put.

6. Insulate hot water tanks, as this is a big energy user that turns off and on constantly. Make sure to get electrical or gas hot water insulation blanket, as they are different because of the ventilation of gas appliances.

7. An automatic thermostat saves as you can set it to lower temperatures at night and when you are not home and will rise to the set temperature before you get home so the house is nice and warm.

8. Buy flannel bed sheets as they keep you warmer and when you turn down thermostat at night you stay warm like in the old days. Use plenty of extra covers on really cold nights.

9. Clean the coils on your refrigerator as it helps it to run cooler and to last longer and use less electricity. Be sure to unplug the appliance and be careful not to damage any coils. I usually use a duster and vacuum.

10. If you have people in your house that are always forgetting to turn lights off you can install sensors that turn on lights when you enter a room and turn them off if you are out of the room for a certain amount of time. Try one first to see if you like them. It sometimes takes awhile to get use to.

Most of these things you can do yourself but anything you feel unsafe or uncomfortable doing hire a professional.

Biology Book Review - Human Anatomy and Physiology

It's amazing that so few people understand the human body, especially considering that they live within it. It's perhaps the only thing you can truly say that you completely own. Many kids in school do not get an adequate education in biology, which is a travesty considering the full-importance of health care, longevity and living free from disease.

If you are one of the millions of Americans who have received less of an education on this subject than you think you need then may I please recommend an extremely valuable and easy to understand book for you?

"Human Anatomy and Physiology" by Kent M. Van de Graaff, R. Ward Rhees, Patricia Brady Wilhelm; 2001

This work boasts a crash course in biology, specifically human anatomy and physiology. The book is part of the Schaum's Easy Outline series and includes exercise questions, tips for mastering the physiology and human anatomy topic, and everything a student will need to pass a college course or final examine in the subject. The book is jam packed with information from the introduction forward.

Learn about the cell structure, tissue and cellular chemistry of the human body in the first few chapters and then the books goes on to explain the central nervous system and skeletal system, as well as the integration of the muscular components. The cardiovascular system and blood flow from the heart to the other organs. The respiratory system is completely described.

Learn how the body digests, gets rid of waste and metabolizes the food delivering the nutrients. Understand the body's use of water and electrolyte balance. Understand the miraculous reproductive system and how the life cycle continues.

Search Diving: The Dark Side of SCUBA

Framed by shadows from leafless trees lining the banks of the narrow canal, the already dim November sunlight disappears as murky, brown water swallows the drysuit, the BC, the air tank. The mask slowly settles lower, silt forming a grimy division on the lens, a surreal line of separation between the world of sight and sound and the world of darkness and silence. The water churns with bubbles, further shrouding this bleak place just inches below the surface, yet seemingly a million miles away from reality. It's a whole new environment, one of solitary silence, except for the occasional grinding of a propeller blade or the shouts of other team members. The boots stick in the deep mud, making each step a struggle. No need for fins, no gliding effortlessly through a crystal clear lagoon like SCUBA is portrayed in the movies.

This is no exotic dive resort, it's Sauvie Island, Oregon. And it's no vacation, it's the investigation into the disappearance of Kyron Horman. Among the many tragic, horrible subplots the Kyron Horman case has produced, it has also brought to light some positive ones. Case in point: the grim, thankless and yet important job of the volunteer search diver.

"I'm pretty adventurous," search diver Jayson Cottle told a local newscrew about the efforts on Sauvie Island. "I like going and doing unusual things that most people are not interested in."

That's an understatement. Search diving is a tough, grisly task that's not for the faint of heart. Most operations are recoveries, almost never for a live person, and it's compared to being a medical examiner, except dead and decomposing bodies are much different underwater. Sometimes the body will just turn or move around and appear to take a look right at you. Sometimes marine life moves around under the skin making it appear like the facial muscles are flexing and smiling or blinking the eyes. Often, due to the low-visibility conditions, divers report smelling, even tasting the bodies well before they actually see them.

Because of such horrifying situations, even the toughest of the tough wear down and give up on search diving, usually after only a couple of years.

The job can be one without much reward, and with a lot of personal expense. Most search divers are volunteers, driving themselves in their own personal vehicles to the search site, providing their own dive gear (up to $6,000 worth) and not getting paid a dime. Even the paid search divers are usually Firefighters or Police Officers are only compensated a tiny amount, in some cases literally $15 extra every two weeks.

But these folks aren't in it for the money. It's their higher sense of duty and altruism that calls them to this task. They feel like it's a job that nobody else wants to do, yet we all know somebody has to.

Somebody has to get into that muddy, cold water, fighting the currents and peering through two-foot visibility. It's probably the most important job in some crime investigations. Sometimes its the search diver who is called upon to find key evidence that could help to solve a case. Other times they are instrumental in recovering the body of a drowning victim, helping the family to at least have some sense of closure.

Whatever the motivation, there is something instinctual inside the people who become search divers that drives them to help others. Good thing, too, for in that dark world of solitary silence, instinct is sometimes the only thing they can rely upon.

How to Pick Out the Right Kart Seat For Karting

You've decided you either want a new kart seat, or your new and you just need one to race. There are many factors to consider when choosing.

Seat placement

Generally on a straight kart it will be placed in the center of the kart. On an offset kart for oval racing it usually is placed farther left.

Types

There are some different styles and materials that they are made out of and it's not too large of a collection, so it makes your choice easier. Here are the main ones you will see:

Fiberglass Kart Seats

Fiberglass is usually the choice of most racers. It has a nice finish, and is strong to a point. Fiberglass are popular for the same reasons fiberglass bodies are. They are easy to patch up if they crack a little bit. They also come out with a good finish when painted. It is a strong lightweight material.

Plastic

Plastic bends but doesn't break, but when they do break, you can't really fix it. This is probably the 2nd mots popular type but still not that close to the fiberglass ones.

Carbon Fiber

These are the most expensive and the highest quality, as well as the lightest. If you have the money it is a good investment. If you have ever seen carbon fiber it has a unique look to it, like it's woven together. This is a strong material as well, but rarely seen in karting.

Kart Racing Seat Designs

When picking a seat, you have different design choices to pick from. Here are some:

Lay down Seats

These are the choice for most racers. It has the least wind resistance, and most feel it's more comfortable. The only downside is for shorter people and seeing over the steering wheel.

Upright Seats

These are the original seats in karting, and are just more upright than the lay down seats.

Sizes

The best way to really check for your size is to sit in a seat. But if you want to get a rough estimate, they come in mostly general sizes like, extra small, small, medium, large and extra large.

Padding

There is padding out there you can buy specifically for kart seats, but most people find it best just to add their own, using anything from duct tape to foam.

Chicken Raising - 5 Reasons Why You Should Raise Chickens

Chicken raising makes a lot of sense now in recessionary times and when people have legitimate fears about the source of their food.

1 - Chickens love scraps and leftovers.

Chickens appetites are voracious..and will eat practically anything. So don't worry about food going to waste or out of date food left in your fridge.Your chicken will love you and your garbage disposal costs will be significantly reduced.

2 - Fresh Free Range eggs..just like you used to have when you were a child

And the huge amount of ways to eat eggs and use them in the kitchen means that for baking, for making omelets, scrambled eggs, fried eggs etc. means you will never be short of a nutritious, healthy and economical meal.

And some people swear by raw eggs to improve their breathing and wind..particularly when indulging in vigorous exercise or training for sports.

3 - Source of natural fertilizers

Chickens are wonderful sources of natural fertilizers for the soil..and a virtuous cycle of consumption and growth is maintained.

4 - Low Maintenance Pets

Unlike most family pets which can be high maintenance and demanding in terms of walking, grooming and various other demands, chickens are positively low maintenance and so long as they are fed and watered and their bedding changed regularly they can be very self contained..all the while supplying you with fresh eggs in abundance.

And you can become very attached to them.

5 - Lawnmowers and Weed eaters

Chickens are voracious eaters of weeds and grass and can maintain your backyard without the need for you to buy weed killers and spend time weeding and maintaining your property.

In summary it is pretty clear that chicken raising is a smart option for many reasons as outlined above..and the regular supply of fresh chicken and eggs and the confidence of knowing where the food that you put on your table comes from is a huge source of comfort in an uncertain world.

So if you would like to learn more about raising chickens, chicken coops and building or buying chicken coops visit my blog now!

Important Tips For Business Travelers

Some jobs involve a lot of traveling. The traveling could either be locally or internationally. Business travelers are therefore extremely busy people with tight schedules and several deadlines to meet. For that reason, it is very easy for such travelers to make mistakes while making choices on the mode and means of travel. This paper examines various tips that a business traveler should always keep in mind while traveling, and most importantly how to get a quality and reliable limousine service to the airport.

It is very common with business travelers and every other traveler to always hire transport services from the airport to their various destinations. Statistics indicate that most travelers always prefer engaging cab services as they are the relatively cheap and affordable as compared to other available means of transport. However, due to their relatively low charges, cab services are not always as comfortable and stylish as a traveler would desire

Due to the lack of comfort that is associated with the cab services, travel advisors have given rentals of limousine as the alternative. The limousines services offered for airport transfers are quite comfortable and elegant and are within affordable rates. Making the right selection while hiring a limo at the airport will not only guarantee you access to your desired destination, but will also offer quality services for the payments made.

It is very important that a wise selection for a limo airport transfer is made to avoid frustrations. If so, then such a company is more reliable and therefore more preferable as opposed to one that does not.

A business traveler is therefore advised to always use the above discussed tips to avoid making mistakes while traveling.

Adirondack All Weather Furniture - Choosing the Right Wood Type

Few people are aware of the fact that the idea for quality Adirondack all weather furniture began with a quest to find the perfect chair for relaxing on lazy summer evenings. This is why comfort is one of the very first things anyone thinks of when imagining an Adirondack chair or lounger. Aside from comfort, the other feature that most comes to mind when thinking about Adirondack all weather furniture is durability...why else would they call it all-weather!?

Because the original Adirondack chairs were originally designed for outdoor use at some lake cottage or similar retreat-the furniture had to be durable and was thus made from woods such as:

1. Cypress

2. Pine

3. Cedar

The use of cypress for construction purposes dates all the way back to ancient Egypt when the wood was a material for the construction of caskets for the first pharaohs. Today, cypress is a very common wood and used to make outdoor furniture like swings and various deck accessories. Cypress is also commonly used to make doors and windows as well because it has a preservative within the wood grain that helps it naturally repel insects and resist rot and decay which is why it is a popular choice when crafting quality-made Adirondack chairs and patio furniture.

Pine is another common wood used to make quality Adirondack all weather chairs and other seasonal outdoor furniture. Because of its abundance and relatively quick growth cycle, pine tends to be a cheaper wood and is used extensively in the construction of many outdoor furniture pieces, including tables, benches, swings, chairs, and loungers. Pine tends to have a relatively low oil content and tends to thus dry out easily, making it susceptible to cracking. However, when properly maintained, pine can be used to make premium Adirondack all weather furniture.

Cedar is a great wood when thinking about quality Adirondack outdoor furniture. Having a reddish brown color, cedar wood tends to be somewhat knotty and is actually a softwood. Cedar is naturally insect repellant and tends to have a very distinctive aroma which can be managed with a sealer. However, quality Adirondack all weather furniture made from cedar is both beautiful and very durable making it an excellent choice when buying patio or deck chairs, tables, or accessories.

Bodywork For Dementia

A condition that negatively influences a person's memory and cognitive abilities, dementia affects millions of people in the United States. The most commonly known form of this condition is Alzheimer's disease. Since there's currently no known cure for dementia, many people are seeking out alternative therapies as a method of treatment. Massage therapy is one of these alternative therapies, and can greatly impact the life of someone suffering with dementia.

Dementia is a condition that involves memory loss, behavior, learning, and communication problems. These symptoms never truly improve, and slowly worsen over time. The most obvious aspect of massage therapy is touch. For dementia patients, this translates into much-needed attention and unspoken communication, especially benefiting those who may not be able to verbally communicate. With massage, the client may experience a reduction in stress and possibly less anxiety, as well as relief from pain. The benefits of massage therapy on people suffering with dementia are numerous.

Studies show that even simple and short massage sessions can have a tremendous effect on the quality of life for those suffering with severe dementia. If a full-body massage makes an older client uncomfortable, try opting for a gentle hand massage, or utilize essential oils to aid in relaxation.

It's important to remember when working with dementia patients, usually the elderly, that they may have existing medical conditions or may be taking medications that are contraindicated with massage. Being aware of these health issues and being confident enough to work closely with your client's physician will ensure the safety of the client.

Those suffering with dementia are aware that there is no medical treatment to cure their condition, making bodywork therapy a reasonable alternative. Learn how you can help improve the quality of life for a dementia patient by reading the entire article here.

Dive Watches Are Great For Diving And Every Day Use

When it comes to the individual components of your scuba diving gear, most people would probably not rank a waterproof watch very high on the priority list. Most people would probably rank their buoyancy control device, regulator, and air tank at the top of the list. The humble dive watch usually falls to the bottom. After all, it's just a time piece, right? Not necessarily. Although scuba watches don't usually get the credit they deserve, they really should be near the top of your list. This is because they provide you with information that is critical to a safe dive. Namely, the amount of time, or duration of your dive. Even if you have been diving in water that isn't too deep, you will still need to know how long you've been under so that you don't stay too long and run the risk of getting sick from nitrogen narcosis or even hypothermia.

Finding a great scuba watch is very easy to do since there are a lot of great companies that make many different styles and features of these diving components. They are available for both men and women and you can even get them in either analog or digital formats. The majority of watch companies that make tradition watches also make dive watches too. You're probably already very familiar with the brands... TAG Heuer, Luminox, Swiss Army, Pulsar, Seiko, Citizen, and many others. How much you spend on a waterproof watch depends on what features and styles you are interested in. For example, you can find and inexpensive aquatic watch for just $30 or a more stylish watch for $300. It just depends on what you are looking for.

There are a lot of people who wear their scuba watches as their everyday watch. That's totally understandable since many of these watches are indistinguishable from their "civilian" counterparts. Many scuba diving watches go just as well with a tuxedo as they would with a wetsuit. You find dive watches that are just as fancy as you want. Many of them, for example, come with gorgeous stainless steel or crocodile bands. They can be either sophisticated and stylish or simple and functional. You can wear your waterproof watch to a fancy evening dinner or even wear it while playing basketball.

Professional dive watches are very different from regular dive watches. You could say they are in their own class. Professional scuba watches typically do much more than basic dive watches do. These watches are feature rich and frequently have dive computers and other features built in. Professional dive watches are usually not cheap. They normally cost hundreds of dollars for a good one.

Biotechnology and Colours

Biotechnology and the world of colours have always been intertwined. Nature's hues and tints are captured in their natural or synthetic state in a variety of market products. The flower markets of natural blood-red roses and gene-designed blue roses recently released in Japan are apt examples.

To-date notwithstanding the awe-inspiring snip and tuck techniques of genetic engineering, the legendary 'Black Tulip' of French author Alexander Dumas still remains the 'Holy Grail of the Tulip world'. Several types from 'Tulip Queen of Night' (1944) to T.'Black Hero' (1984) constitute 'the category of the 'blackest of the officially 'purple' tulips'.

Nature's wealth of colours have inspired celebrity painters and poets ---French-born Hillarie Belloc describes in verse the morphology of The Microbe with its 'seven tufted tails with lots of pink and purple spots.'; and schoolchildren to explore the microbial world through the 'looking-glass' of Winogradsky's column with its purple and green bands ---consortia of the green and purple photosynthetic bacteria. Blue-green cyanobacteria contribute to the economy of Nature's important biogeochemical Cycles-the nitrogen cycle.

The Red Sea may derive its colour and name from the red-cyanobacterium -- Trichodesmium erythraeum, but the destruction of numerous fish is due to the Red Tide population of the plant-like red-brown dinoflagellates. Pigments help classify the brown, yellow, red and green algae; and protozoa and yeasts such as Euglena and Pichia. Nature's colour artistry occurs throughout the biospectrum incorporating interalia green and purple bacteria, antibiotic-producing species of Streptomyces and Nocardia, fungi that color cheeses, blue-green anoles, rainbow papaya and trout, and green fluorescent proteins responsible for the coloration of diverse corals and anemones. Green, yellow, orange-red and purple-blue chromoproteins are the raison d'etre of fabled reef colours varying in the spectrum of daylight conditions.

Verily, Nature's palette of pigments and paints underscores the need of bioresources centres to capture, classify and conserve the planet's biotreasury lest extinction result from benign neglect and commercial exploitation. 'Biomimicry...... is a new science that studies nature's best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems. ......Organisms use two methods to create colour without paint: internal pigments and the structural colour that makes tropical butterflies, peacocks, and hummingbirds so gorgeous. A peacock is a completely brown bird. Its "colours" result from light scattering off regularly spaced melanin rods, and interference effects through thin layers of keratin (the same stuff as your fingernails).'

New military clothing uses fluorescent colours, biosensors and bioinformatics at the nano-level to mimic natural phenomena of biomimicry and chameleonic colours. Geofabrics coloured for appropriate use contribute to landscape and urban management --- conservation of golf courses and park-lawns, and safeguarding creative and aesthetic instinct of humankind is embedded in of soil embankments and floral gardens.

The clean and green technologies. The first biodegradable green credit card was issued in 1997. 'Coral proteins put on the red light' in marine waters, and coloured glow fish function as indicators of pollution in aquatic reservoirs. Colours used in biotextile grafts make attractive and acceptable use of bioceramic materials in dentistry, medicine orthopaedics, tissue engineering and veterinary science.

Genetic research has contributed to understanding human eye and skin colour. The genesis of coat colours of cats, dogs, rabbits, ponies, etc. has been deciphered. The head colour of birds too. Coat colour alleles are used to produce sublines of mice for studies concerning ageing, cancer, cardiovascular, neurobiological and reproductive biology. The Big Blue mouse is used to research cancer and neurodegenerative disease. Yellow mice help localize gene mutations on specific chromosomes.Custom-made mice --- the albino, cream, brown and black models are research keys studying tumour biology. Indeed, 'the ability to follow coat colours' requires 'no complicated tools such as molecular genotyping' in 'the breeding and maintenance of mutant strains.'

Colours inspire, motivate and uplift humankind. Clinics and psychological facilities use soothing colours to aid convalescents. Colours exist in sports too. Winners express a sense of national achievement and pride in draping themselves in their national flags. In EURO 2004 - soccer and biopsychology met. To enhance local psychobiological advantage and patriotism the coach of the home team requested fans 'to wear something red or green' their national colours 'toface the orange shirts' of their opponents' in a qualifying match.

Corporate biotech is engaged in 'chasing the rainbow.' Former Vice-President Al Gore envisioned the 'pot of gold at the end of the biotechnology rainbow.' Entrepreneurs, however, focus their quest 'somewhere over the genetic rainbow'. UN policy-makers use colour-codes in combating, and designing solutions to problems of hunger and poverty. The UN Economic Commission for Africa in 2002 described 'Realizing the Promise of Green Biotechnology for the Poor' and 'Tackling the Diseases of Poverty through Red Biotechnology' ---technologies that involve using genetically-engineered mosquitoes with the potential to eradicate malaria; and gene modified foods ---golden rice and orange bananas, enriched with vitamin A to counteract the onset of blindness.

'Ethical challenges of green biotechnology for developing countries' arise, and, 'whether transgenic plants should carry distinguishing markers, such as distinguishing colours, so that they can be identified and not intermixed with other plants of the same species' is under review for use in regulatory work. In space biology research, transgenic plants using blue and green colours are being developed as biosensors to indicate presence of certain kinds of stress. Nutritionists talk of a rainbow diet rich in micronutrients and vitamins that make food naturally attractive and appetizing for a 'good feel'status. Traditional medicine recommends eating naturally coloured foods possessing natural phytonutrients in their skin ingredients. A judicious choice of red (meat), green (salads), yellow (cereals and fruits) and violet (vegetables) foods contributes to the sustenance of long-term good health in combating artificial diabetes and obesity. Blue cheese and black truffles are delicacies without added food colorants; and supermarkets may soon offer carrots in red and purple with the orange variety. 'Research into different coloured carrots is not about making a fashion statement but about potential health improvements'.

In agro-trade, traffic-colours of amber and green define policies that distort trade of certain commodities. Amber box policies signify 'caution' relating to 'price supports, marketing loans and subsidies, and livestock quantities'. Green box policies cover 'research, pest and disease control, and crop insurance and conservation programs'. Blue box policies --a temporary WTO category that accommodates transatlantic negotiations, are 'redefined amber box policies concerning production limiting programs'.

Biotechnologies described in colours spotlight salient aspects of research for economic development. The Cordia-EuropaBio Convention 2003 in Vienna in 'Blue Biotechnology - Exploitation of Marine Resources' focused on the 'Ocean of Opportunities' for sustaining development through rational use of marine bioresources. Europe's catalytic role in 'Green Biotechnology in Africa' resides in collaborative biotech education, research, development, and market ventures. In January 2004, a European Commission meeting at the Biosciences 'Technology Facility', University of York, UK, recognized that any 'biotechnology platform, developing bio-based products would have to be a concerted marriage of the 'White' together with the 'Green' and 'Blue' biotechnology sectors'. Unlocking of bottlenecks could be achieved through programmes utilizing 'the synergies between green, white and blue biotechnologies.'

In 2005, the 12th European Biotechnology Congress will use 4 biotech motors: white (industrial); red (pharmaceutical), green (food and feed) and blue (environment) in 'Bringing Genomes to Life' in Denmark.

The use of colour codes is seemingly the lingua franca of science policy in Germany. Sixty percent of the 253 biotechnological firms with some 43,000 employees in a survey by Hessen's Ministry of Economy were specializing in red biotechnology (diagnosis and treatment of diseases); 4% were specializing in green biotechnology (agriculture, food production); and, 1% was in grey biotechnology (pure industrial processes with an environmental nuance). In Baden-Württemberg, over half of the biotech companies excel in red biotechnology with smaller numbers in the grey and green sectors. German market studies emphasize the white and red biotechnologies. Red biotechnology accounts for some 86% of all biotech companies. Green biotechnology with 27% is followed by grey biotechnology with 10%.

In the USA, a 5 colour-coded security system from green (low) through blue (guarded), yellow (elevated), and orange (high) to red (severe) has been decreed. Adoption of protective and self-defense responses involves all levels of vigilance and preparedness to combat and neutralize the threats of terrorism and those of bioterrorism that aim at destruction of that country's security and its peoples. Colour alert systems for air pollution (USA) and inclement weather (Mozambique) are indicators of time available for precautionary action by people susceptible to asthmatic and respiratory diseases as well as in offsetting loss of life and bioeconomic resources.

In satire, a 'five (colour) level Mad Cow alert' exists. The alert levels range from eating cow parts (green) through limited beef consumption (blue) and exercise of planned protective measures (yellow) to symptomatic mooing and chewing of the cud (orange) to a switch to fermented food - tofu (red).

Using colours to describe biotechnology constitutes a new mechanism in:

- attracting school children to the microbial world in different environments; - teaching biotechnology in graduate and medical schools; and - providing sound bytes for use by non-technical policy-makers promoting the biotech powerhouse for sustainable development.

Dr. R. Colwell, Director, US National Foundation at a US-EC Biotech meeting in 2003 said: "If we could weave a Flag of Biotechnology, some say, it would feature three colours: red for medical applications, green for agricultural and white for industrial. In fact this flag may accrue even more colours over time as environmental and marine biotech and other applications add their stripes'.

In that context, the colour index below may be a useful guide with further additions as biotechnology and colours intertwine over time in promoting public perception and understanding of biotech applications for the cause of science, development, and the current and post human future of humankind.

Color Type Area of Biotech Activities

Red - Health, Medical, Diagnostics Yellow - Food Biotechnology, Nutrition Science Blue - Aquaculture, Coastal and Marine Biotech Green - Agricultural, Environmental Biotechnology - Biofuels, Biofertilizers, Bioremediation, Geomicrobiology Brown - Arid Zone and Desert Biotechnology Dark - Bioterrorism, Biowarfare, Biocrimes, Anticrop warfare Purple - Patents, Publications, Inventions, IPRs White - Gene-based Bioindustries Gold - Bioinformatics, Nanobiotechnology Grey - Classical Fermentation and Bioprocess Technology

5 Documents That You Must Have To Apply For A Car Loan

Obtaining an auto loan with less than perfect credit can be a long process, and you can easily begin to feel like you are jumping through hoops compared to how the process used to go when you had excellent credit. The lenders who specialize in these types of loans all have different documents that they want to see, so that they can evaluate the reasons for your poor credit as well as determine your current ability to pay. Despite the differences in required paperwork, there are five documents that everyone must have on hand in order to apply for a car loan.

Proof of income. Some lenders will ask for proof dating back three years or more. If you are a contractor, you will have to show consistent W-9 tax forms. The key is consistent employment and income that can support the payments on the vehicle you want. Credit and Banking History. Yes, the lenders will expect to see bad things on your credit history. They will be looking for patterns of slow payments or if the bad credit was caused by a one time situation like job loss or bad health. Obviously, the latter is preferred by lenders. Proof of Residence. Lenders want to see that you have been able to maintain one residence for a period of time. It helps to demonstrate reliability. They also want to know where to start looking if they have to repossess the vehicle. Vehicle Information. Every lender will ask for purchase price, vehicle identification number (VIN), the make, the model, the condition of the vehicle and the mileage. If you get a loan, this will have to be put into a legal document so that the bank is assured that the dealer is willing to uphold their end of the bargain. If you purchase the vehicle from an individual owner, a bill of sale will be required and both parties will sign the loan. Proof of Insurance. This is separate from any state insurance mandates. Lenders will not risk losing the asset, so you will have to show proof of insurance before a loan check will be issued.

A bad credit auto loan should be viewed as an opportunity. An opportunity to get back the credit respect that you once had. The process can be long and tedious, but you can help it along by knowing what to have on hand and supplying it as quickly as possible.

Implementing Rich Snippets on Travel Websites

A couple of days back while using Google webmasters tool I saw a Google video giving details on Rich snippets and how to use them. I was very curious to see a couple of examples describing how to use it on my website so that search engines can better process and read my valuable data. Before I give more details on using Rich snippets and the tools associated along with them. I would like to tell you what the problem for search websites is in order to find out what data your website represents and how Rich snippets help search engines to better read and evaluate your valuable data. Normally programmers or webmasters when they develop a website or an application they design the database in such a way that relevant information is stored in relevant fields. A typical travel location attraction Database table would normally have fields like id, name, description, image, authorname, authorphoto. When this information is transformed on to the webpage unfortunately the ordering and descriptiveness of the data goes for a toss. HTML markup cannot completely describe the data in a way which would make it easy for search engines to read it in a fast and efficient way.

Rich snippets are easily more readable and provide easy and better information to search engines about what the content contains. The rich snippets begins by telling the search websites what type of content the markup is showing. Here is a list of commonly used types CreativeWork, Book, Movie, MusicRecording, Recipe, TVSeries, AudioObject, ImageObject, VideoObject, Event, Organization, Person, Place, LocalBusiness, Restaurant, Product, Offer, AggregateOffer, Review, AggregateRating.

Just by adding these few additional mark up you make your website better readable to the search engine and this could also help your website coming up in search engines. Search engines including Bing, Google, Yahoo! and Yandex rely on this markup to improve the display of search results, making it easier for people to find the right web pages.

The question now arises is that how can you test the markup you have included on your web page. Google provides you with a tool through which you can evaluate and test the mark up you have implemented on your web page. Link to the Google Rich snippets tool http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets besides Google you can find more information and good examples on http://schema.org.

On travel websites the type TouristAttraction can be used effectively to provide Search engines with correct information.
